Dan Auerbach details sophomore solo album, “Waiting on a Song”

Easy Eye SoundDan Auerbach has officially announced the details of his next solo album. The sophomore effort from the Black Keys frontman is called Waiting on a Song, and will be released June 2 through his own Easy Eye Sound record label.

Auerbach recorded Waiting on a Song with musicians including folk legend John Prine, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame guitarist Duane Eddy and Dire Straits frontman Mark Knopfler, plus drummer Gene Chrisman and pianist Bobby Wood, both of whom performed with Elvis Presley and Dusty Springfield.

“Living in Nashville has definitely changed the way I think about music and the way that I record it,” Auerbach says in a statement. “I didn’t have all of these resources before. I am working with some of the greatest musicians that ever lived.”

Waiting on a Song is Auerbach’s second solo album, following 2009’s Keep It Hid.
