For those about to be inducted: Rock Hall to open exhibit Friday celebrating 2017 honorees

Courtesy of Rock & Roll Hall of FameThe Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will celebrate this year’s class of new inductees with a special exhibit opening this Friday, March 31, at Cleveland’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. The display will feature items from all of the 2017 inductees, including Pearl Jam.

The grunge icons contributed to the exhibit the T-shirt frontman Eddie Vedder wore during the band’s April 1994 Saturday Night Live appearance. The shirt features a handwritten letter ‘K’ that Vedder had drawn on it in honor of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, who passed away earlier that month.

The exhibition also will feature a video presentation of highlights from past induction ceremonies that will be updated to include footage from this year’s event.

Along with Pearl Jam, the 2017 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees include Journey, Yes, Electric Light Orchestra, Joan Baez, Tupac Shakur and Nile Rodgers.

The 2017 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on April 7. An HBO special focusing on the event will premiere Saturday, April 29, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
