Pearl Jam plans to invite all five drummers who played with the band to Rock Hall ceremony

Kevin Mazur/Getty ImagesWhen Pearl Jam is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next month, two drummers will be going in as part of the band — current drummer Matt Cameron and original drummer Dave Krusen — but not three other drummers who played with the band during its career — Matt Chamberlain, Dave Abbruzzese and Jack Irons

But apparently Pearl Jam intends to invite all five drummers to the induction ceremony in Brooklyn on April 7, even if only two are actually being enshrined.

In a handwritten note posted to Twitter on Saturday, the band writes, “We do feel fortunate to be recognized and provided the opportunity to reunite with everyone who has been part of the group. Specifically the drummers who all left their distinctive mark on our band in the pre-Matt Cameron years.”

“Dave Krusen, Matt Chamberlain, Dave Abbruzzese and Jack Irons are each individually great players who gave their all to the early recordings and live gigs,” the band continues. “Looking forward to seeing them and all the other musicians on the bill.”

Pearl Jam also gave a shout-out to members of two band who were eligible but did not earn induction this year — Jane’s Addiction‘s Perry Farrell and ailing Bad Brains frontman H.R. “Have to say wich H.R. and Perry Farrell were gonna be there too,” the note read.
