Muse is gearing up to drop another new track. The latest song from the British trio is called “Something Human,” and will apparently illustrate the band’s softer side.
Frontman Matt Bellamy teased “Something Human” in an Instagram video of him playing a clip from the new tune on a acoustic guitar.
In the video, Bellamy reveals that “Something Human” was the first song he wrote following Muse’s world tour behind their 2015 album, Drones.
Muse also shared a snipped of “Something Human” in a Marvel-style post-credits scene at the end of their Drones World Tour concert film, which was screened in theaters for one-night-only last Thursday. In the clip, you see a post-apocalyptic wasteland with an old city limit sign that boasts a population of 213,340,5057. If you call that number, you can hear a robot voice recite the “Something Human” lyrics.
According to the teaser, “Something Human” will premiere this Thursday, July 19.
“Something Human” will follow the standalone Muse singles “Dig Down” and “Thought Contagion.” The band has also been working on a follow-up album to Drones.
