Josh Homme sued for assault by autograph hound

Tara Ziemba/WireImageQueens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme is being sued for assault by an autograph seeker. According to Rolling Stone, the alleged incident took place after an Iggy Pop concert last April in Detroit. Homme toured with Pop in support of their recent join album Post Pop Depression.

Jason Leckrone, a schoolteacher and autograph collector, claims Homme verbally assaulted him and grabbed him “around the shoulder area” outside an after-party at the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Leckrone says Homme arrived and began taking photos but refused to sign autographs, prompting criticism from Leckrone. The suit claims says Homme approached him “screaming profanities” and later “intentionally and physically grabbed [Leckrone] around the shoulder area.”

Leckrone names celebrity gossip site TMZ as a defendant as well, charging it with defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress, becaues it posted a profanity-laced 30-second excerpt of the incident on its website last year.

Additionally, Leckrone cites the Museum of Contemporary Art for negligence, claiming it “allowed Homme to engage [Leckrone] in a hostile and threatening manner multiple times.”

Leckrone is asking for about $150,000. His lawyer told the Detroit Free Press that “the video pretty much speaks for itself.” Representatives for Homme, TMZ and the Museum have not commented as of yet.
