ABC/Randy HolmesMetallica has added Mix Master Mike to their summer North American tour lineup. The turntablist and producer, best known for his work with Beastie Boys, will be DJing before the show starts and between sets.
In a statement on their website, Metallica writes, “The party will roll all night long during the North American WorldWired tour as we’re psyched to announce that award-winning DJ and producer Mix Master Mike will be spinning some of your favorite (and ours!) hard rock and metal tracks throughout the evening at all of the stadium dates this summer.”
In addition to Mix Master Mike, the tour will feature opening sets from Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat and Gojira on select dates.
Metallica will be touring in support of their new album, Hardwired…to Self-Destruct. The trek kicks off May 10 in Baltimore.
